I often came across posts about cats passing away on Facebook. Every time I read them, my eyes would well up with tears—and I’d immediately get up to hug my own cat. I’d always felt grateful that Milo, with his tabby cat genes, was strong and healthy from a kitten. I’d thought he’d easily live to be 15 or older. I never expected something like this to happen to him so soon. Today, at 9 a.m. on August 6, 2025, his life came to an end forever at the age of 7. Over these 7 years, we’d been with each other every day; he’d long become family to me.

I hate myself so much. I hate that I wasn’t at home; I hate that I never took her for a check-up. I loved her so, so, so much—more than I love myself. She was the first cat I ever raised. I got her when I hadn’t even graduated yet.

Sara, our loyal Golden Retriever, shared ten unforgettable years with our family and grew up alongside our daughter Youyou. After a long battle with splenic hemangiosarcoma, Sara passed away peacefully, leaving behind memories of love, play, and companionship. This story is a heartfelt pet memorial, honoring not only Sara’s courage but also the deep bond between pets and humans.

On an ordinary summer night, a little white dog trapped in an abandoned orchard was accidentally found during a dog walk. From its initial faint cries for help, to everyone working together to search, overcoming the risks of shrubs and snakes to rescue it, and finally letting it integrate into the dog family, this is not just a rescue, but a beautiful encounter between life and love.

We could not stop crying, but we know that her love will never fade. Maya will always be the most beautiful memory in our hearts.
